PAN Card or Permanent Account Number card is a 10- character unique code this is for tax-paying entities across India.

Aadhaar is a 12-digit unique number that is valid everywhere across India and hence helps during filling the returns in every possible way. Aadhaar contains demographic and biometric details of any individual residing in India.

No only Indian citizens, as well as foreigners, can avail this opportunity to make clear and hassle-free stuff.

Why Link PAN and Aadhar Card

This card is linked to my network to make convenient transactions to the holders. Since tax filing is also a major headache nowadays and hence linking it with UIDAI Aadhaar waved off most of the documents mess for identifications.

Also, any transaction above 50,000 INR requires linking of both of these cards.

How to Link Pan with Aadhaar Card

Below are the possible and easy ways to do it. Government is supporting on this issue to get it done smoothly. Below are the methods;

Link PAN and Aadhar Card | Online Methods

There are two methods to link PAN-Aadhaar at Income Tax Filing Porta. One is for Registered users and other is for non- registered.

For Non-Registered User at Tax Filing Portal | Online Methods

Step-1: Go to a portal provided by Indian Government income tax e filing portal

Step-2: You need to fill PAN Number, Aadhaar Number.

Step-3: Tick the tiny box “I agree to Validate my Aadhaar details with UIDAI”

Step-4: Enter the “Captcha” link in picture L5A3TR, you will be different but if you cannot read it properly then click on refresh icon to get an easy one this time.

Step-5: If you are visually challenged then you can request an OTP at your mobile number.

Step-6: Now, press Link Aadhaar tab and you are done. You will see a pop-up message about your confirmation stating that “Aadhaar-PAN linking is done successfully”.

For Registered User at Tax Filing Portal | Online Methods

You can register yourself at income tax e filing portal if you don’t have registered yourself already.

Now you need to follow the below steps

Step – 1: Go to the income tax e filing portal and at Sign in by entering the Login name, Password and Captcha.

Step – 2: Go to “Profile Setting” then to “Link Aadhaar”

Step – 3: You will be asked to file PAN Name, DOB, Gender and Aadhaar number.

Step – 4: Fill the Captcha.

Step – 5: Click on “Link Aadhaar”

Step – 6: Pop-up will appear stating the successful linking.

Link PAN and Aadhaar Card | via SMS

It is the easiest of all, send an SMS from your registered mobile at either 567678 or 56161. The format of the text should in this order

UIDPAN<SPACE><12-digit Aadhaar><Space><10-Charater PAN>

Let say, your Adhaar number is 888659321024 and your PAN is ABCXY4258E, you need to type UIDPAN 888659321024 ABCXY4258E

Question – 1: NRI’s needs an Aadhaar for e-filing?
Answer: No, they are exempted.

Question – 2: My income is below taxable amount still I need to do this PAN-Aadhaar linking?
Answer: Yes, or else PAN will be deactivated.

Question – 3: Who else is exempted from PAN-Aadhaar linking like NRI’s?
Answer: Yes, few others are exempted like people residing in Kashmir, Assam, Meghalaya, foreign residing in India and senior citizen above the age of 80.

Question – 4: If I need to change my registered mobile number then what to do?
Answer: Go the nearby Aadhaar enrollment center to do it.

Question – 5: What documents are required for that PAN-Aadhaar linking?
Answer: No document is required. Only you Aadhaar, PAN and registered mobile are enough.
